Our Ethos

BROOD family studio is a creative space offering classes for babies and little ones. These aren’t your usual baby classes. We do cooking. We make beautiful things to take home. We combine baby massage with mindfulness. We do really messy messy play. We learn history and culture through dance.

Programmes have been written from scratch alongside experts in Montessori, the arts, early years development and family wellbeing. Our studio is a calm space in the bottom of a beautiful, fun-filled private garden in South London. We want you to come and get creative, meet likeminded families, or find a moment to focus on yourself.

Our origins

amelia, mum of three, founded Brood after leaving her role at a creative advertising agency. She has spent her life working with children - teaching in a Montessori school, running a kids’ theatre camp for ten years, and sharing her love of drama, art, and dance.

Brood is her way of bringing together all her creative passions, from cooking and ceramics to drawing and painting.

And of course, Brood is shaped by Amelia’s own family. Her mum, MaryRose, a Montessori teacher and former nursery owner, has passed down her love of child-led learning. Her brother Oscar, an education entrepreneur and music teacher, has helped shape our Little Creatives classes. David, Amelia’s husband, is a trained chef who keeps everyone well-fed and full of ideas. And then there are her littlest helpers - ages 2, 5 and 7 - who are the real inspiration behind everything we do (and the best product testers we could ask for!).
